Mrs. Katie Lowrie To All Instructors
Katie graduated from Georgia State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Biology and in 2007 with a M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education. She has taught in a variety of settings and places, including as a Biology Lab Instructor at Emory University and 8 years at East Coweta High School, teaching all levels of Physics, Physical Science, and Astronomy. In 2012 she was chosen as Teacher of the Year for ECHS. For the 2014-2015 school year she was the Director of the Coweta STEM Institute, a group that provides affordable field trip experiences to students within Coweta County. In 2015 she became the lead educational consultant for the Georgia Public Broadcasting educational series, "Physics in Motion," which produced 62 videos that currently, in total, have more than 2,000,000 views. In 2024, she decided to pursue her doctorate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Colorado Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Christian Counselor.
Katie has been married to her husband, Robert, for 24 years and has two beautiful children, Lauren and Luke. She has homeschooled her children for their entire educational journey and has been a member of Eagle's Nest since 2018. She is currently the assistant director of EN's co-op, Voyagers. Katie has a passion for teaching and facilitating and is excited to be tutoring at EN.
